New System: Character Progression

     The framework for what I hope is the last major game system is in place. Character Points are earned every x amount of experience points (for now, every 50 xp nets 1 character point). Those points are then used to unlock perks and abilities for individual characters. The system allows me to build a unique skill tree for each PC that determines what skills they have access to, and at what levels. I can set prerequisites for those skills if desired. The system isn't quite finished yet ... I'd like to introduce a universal tree where players can spend points on things that apply to all PCs (for example, enhanced slot position bonuses), and there are more things I need to add to the purchasable list, like stats boosts and procs. Still, it's about 85% of the way there.

     Over the next 2 months I've got the following priorities:

1) Create a vertical slice of the game that demonstrates all the systems and the core gameplay.

2) Continue to add new abilities and items; flesh out the PC skill trees.

3) Refine and polish all existing game systems.

If I can achieve all of this by year's end, the game will move into alpha phase and I will be a happy game dev. Wish me luck! ;)
