This week was a little rough for finding time to work on this project, but I did manage to get some things done:
- The Rez:
No RPG combat system is complete without a way to revive fallen allies. This week I created a resurrection (rez) spell and began testing. (The Debug button in the top-left of the screen sets Jimbo's HP to 1 to help speed testing along). The rez animation is the death animation played in reverse. Comical, but it works for now.
- Menu Navigation Bugs Squashed:
I cleaned up a few bugs that would happen in regards to ability / target selection. Basically, things were misbehaving when targeting for one ability and then selecting another or pressing escape. I think I've got the kinks worked out in the current version.
- New Spells / Effects:
I've started implementing some nicer looking particle effects, and begun experimenting with different ways to use them. New fire and ice spells were created this week to test them out.
WebGL: The version that plays from the website in a browser is a WebGL build, and it has some performance issues(Lag, missing textures). It exists so that people can see what the project is about without having to actually download it, but the game does perform better if you download and play the Windows version. If you play around with either version and find something that isn't working right, please post about it so I can fix it.
